![]() Usage Charts and tables Ĭharted depths and drying heights on nautical charts are given relative to chart datum. ![]() The levels are local as some places are nearer to or form places of almost no tides in and around each ocean ( amphidromic points). Such a local level is generally close to the " high water mark" where debris accumulates on a tidal shore on about two days six months apart (and nearby days) annually. Within this, to ensure anomalous levels are tempered, at least two successive high waters during the highest-tide 24 hours are taken. Mean high water springs (MHWS) is the averaged highest level that spring tides reach over many years (often the last 19 years). Mean low water springs (MLWS) is the average of the water levels of each pair of successive low waters during that period of about 24 hours in each semi-lunation (approximately every 14 days), when the tidal range is greatest (spring range). In equatorial, tropical seas, such as the Banda Sea such tides (bulges) occur when there is such an alignment and the declination of the moon is more towards its 0° average, thus more overhead or antiposed. Spring tides are those when the moon is in a direct alignment with the sun (thus new or full) and in many extra-tropics places when its declination is 23.5°, its maximum. It is used, among other things as a datum from which to measure the navigational clearance, or air draft, under bridges. Similarly, the mean higher high water (MHHW) is the average height of the highest tide recorded at a tide station each day during the recording period. This is the datum used for coastal charts published by the Canadian Hydrographic Service, with the average taken from 19 years of tidal predictions. This is an average of lowest low waters taken over a fixed period of tidal predictions, as opposed to actual observations. The 19-year recording period is the nearest full year count to the 18.6-year cycle of the lunar node regression, which has an effect on tides. MLLW is only a mean, so some tidal levels may be negative relative to MLLW see also #Mean low water springs. Mean lower low water (MLLW) is the average height of the lowest tide recorded at a tide station each day during a 19-year recording period, known as the National Tidal Datum Epoch as used by the United States' National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Lunar month (the springs) and the lowest each lunar month (the Neaps) averaged over the year.' Mean water Mean lower low water In Australia, the definition of the MHW is '.the line of the medium high tide between the highest tide of each In the United States this period spans 19 years and is referred to as the National Tidal Datum Epoch. It is not the same as the normal tidal limit. Mean high water (MHW) is the average of all the daily tidal high water levels observed over a period of several years. The highest astronomical tide (HAT) can be defined similarly. One advantage of using LAT for chart datums is that all predicted tidal heights must then be positive (or zero) avoiding possible ambiguity and the need to explicitly state sign.Ĭalculation of the LAT only allows for gravitational effects so lower tides may occur in practice due to meteorological effects, such as high pressure systems. Many national charting agencies, including the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office and the Australian Hydrographic Service, use the LAT to define chart datums. Lowest astronomical tide (LAT) is defined as the lowest tide level which can be predicted to occur under average meteorological conditions and under any combination of astronomical conditions. The following tidal phases are commonly used in the definition of chart datums. ![]() ![]() He will help guide children through most of the activities in the program, or, if you click his ears, he will present them with a randomly chosen activity to perform. ![]() Since some children may not know how yet, a parent or older brother/sister should probably stand by to help. Despite the dissimilarities to Bebop's appearance in that game, it is still at least somewhat likely that this was intended to be Bebop considering the cast of characters. When children first start up JumpStart Kindergarten, they are presented with the outside of an old-fashioned one room schoolhouse. On the Japanese cover art for JumpStart Math for Kindergartners, there is an illustration of small rodent-like creature near Jack and Roquefort that may be intended to be Bebop.Curiously, although Bebop is renamed to Prosper in the French release of JumpStart Kindergarten (1997), the French box art for the game refers to him as Victor instead. In both the credit sequences for JumpStart Preschool: Who Left the Juice in the Caboose? and JumpStart Kindergarten: Why Did the Bus Stop?, Bebop's name is written as BeBop, with the second B capitalized.Stay cool." - from JumpStart Reading for Kindergartners Then I'll give you the lowdown on the treasure. If the clock inside the schoolhouse is clicked, he will hop up on the stack of books and state the time on the clock, and play one note for each hour with his saxophone. In the Games JumpStart Kindergarten ( 1994/ 1997) In JumpStart Kindergarten: Why Did the Bus Stop? and JumpStart Phonics, he is depicted as a kindergarten student, and he has a more child-like, naive personality. Since JumpStart Reading for Kindergartners, he has often been depicted as playing brass instruments in particular, such as the trumpet or saxophone, a trait which carried on to some of his most recent appearances in Scholastic workbooks. Many of his appearances depict him as being fond of rhyming and making music. In JumpStart Reading for Kindergartners, he says that he and Hopsalot have been friends for a long time. He is roughly the size of a human child.īebop was originally depicted as an adult character with a laid-back, smooth personality. In JumpStart Kindergarten: Why Did the Bus Stop? and JumpStart Phonics, Bebop has more yellowish blonde hair, light tan fur, and he wears blue overalls over a light blue shirt. Why Apache Web Servers?Īpache is considered open source software, which means the original source code is freely available for viewing and collaboration. Every year there’s a new crop of web applications with new stacks and servers so the landscape is always changing. ![]() Today, Apache still serves a large portion of the active websites but their share of the field has shrunk from 50% to just under 40% as of 2018 and NGINX, a relatively new player to the web server playing field, is in second place with roughly 35% and Microsoft IIS hovering around 8-10%. Microsoft's IIS (Internet Information Services) was also an option but not nearly as popular. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, Apache’s dominance was very strong, serving over 50% of the internet's active websites. While Apache is arguably one of the most popular web servers out there on the net, there are many other players and the landscape is always changing. ![]() The internet is comprised of many different technologies and not all of them are the same. Depending on your infrastructure, your database and application can both live on the same server although it’s recommended to keep those separate. Load Balancers help distribute traffic across the web servers which handle the HTTP(S) requests (this is where Apache comes in) and application servers (servers that handle the functionality and workload of the web app.) We also have Database Servers, which handle asset storage and backups. Most web applications also benefit from Firewalls, Load Balancers, Web Servers, Content Delivery Networks, and Database Servers.įirewalls help protect the web application from both external threats and internal vulnerabilities depending on where the firewalls are configured. For the most part, web applications tend to generally have similar architecture and structure even though they serve many different functions and purposes. While actual statistics may vary, it’s fair to say a large portion of web applications run on some form of the LAMP stack because it is easy to build and also free to use. PHP is the programming language that works with apache to help create dynamic web content. MySQL is the database that stores all your information in an easily queried format. Apache is the web server that processes requests and serves web assets and content via HTTP. Linux is the operating system that handles the operations of the application. One of the most common web application stacks involves LAMP, or Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Apache Web Application ArchitectureĪpache is just one component that is needed in a web application stack to deliver web content. Now, before we get too in depth on Apache, we should first go over what a web application is and the standard architecture usually found in web apps. It was revealed that the name originated from the respect of the Native American tribe for its resiliency and durability. It’s widely thought that Apache gets its name from its development history and process of improvement through applied patches and modules but that was corrected back in 2000. ![]() It is commonly referred to as Apache and after development, it quickly became the most popular HTTP client on the web.
